Jeep...'nuff said
So basically,
I have a Jeep now, and jet me just say; it kicks ass. But as with anything, there is always room for improvement. So I will dedicate this page to my process of building up my wrangler. here is what it looks like now:
My plans for now are to start with a 2.5" suspension lift and new tires for things I can buy. To save some money I'm going to paint my rims myself and redo the intake manifold. Upgrading the manifold should give me a little extra horsepower and save gas. Since HP=speed, and speed is inversely related to time, that means more HP saves time. And since time=money, HP=saved money. Along with better fuel efficiency, I should be able to bring my MPGs up to a reasonable level and save some cash.
The first thing I did was install a Specter filter in place of the factory filter. Not a true cold-air intake system, but definitely an improvement from factory.

After a filter, I decided to turn my attention to some basic aesthetics. At the time a new bumper was too expensive, and instead of buying rims(obviously, also to expensive) i just decided to take some sandpaper to those boring old stock 17s and paint em up nice and black. First I cleaned and sanded the rims, then slightly deflated the tires enough to separate them from the lip to allow me to slide in some index cards.
After the prep-work was taken care of, the painting took place over several hours with one base coat and three primary coats. this is the before and after result:
Next was the first real add-on that actually costed money. I found a custom ACE bumper that had been used for about two weeks before the owner decided to get a wider one. Because it was still technically used, I managed to get it for $450 including install. I was going to get a winch too, but sadly I was $200 short of that price because I bought a used lift kit from a friend with that cash. It doesn't have a space for the OEM fog lights, so I plan to mount those on the bar.
